SoFi CEO: Didn’t raise guidace because of gov’t student loan policy

• SoFi Technologies(NASDAQ:SOFI) CEO Anthony Noto said Friday the extension of the goverment’s student loan moratorium prevented the online personal finance firm from raising guidance ~ that sparked a double-digit percentage decline in the company’s share price.
• Speaking to CNBC, Noto explained that it will lose about $40M in student-loan refinancing ~ because of the changed federal policy
• The government extened the moratorium on student loan payments into 2022. Previously, the policy was set to expire on September 30.
• Noto assured investors that the decision not to raise guidance came “not because our outlook is not incredibly positive and we have strong momentum in our business” but because of the student-loan extension
